Ernst Fuchs (born February 13, 1930) is a multi talented Austrian painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, poet, singer, and one of the founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. He studied sculpture with Emmy Steinbock (1943), attended the St. Anna Painting School where he studied under Professor Fröhlich (1944), and entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (1945) where he began his studies under Professor Robin C. Anderson, later moving to the class of Albert Paris von Gütersloh. At the Academy he met Arik Brauer, Rudolf Hausner, Wolfgang Hutter, and Anton Lehmden, together with whom he later founded what has become known as the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. He was also a founding member of the Art-Club (1946), as well as the Hundsgruppe, set up in opposition to it in 1951, together with Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Arnulf Rainer. ....................READ MORE

(* Vienna, 4 Dec 1914 - † Vienna, 25 Feb 1995)
Austrian painter, draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor.
He studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna from 1931until 1936. During this period he also traveled to England, France,Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt. After he was designated a“degenerate” artist in 1938, exhibition of his work was banned inGermany. He was enlisted into the Austrian army and served as asoldier from 1941 until 1945. In 1942 he married Grete Czingely.Before allying himself with and co-founding the Vienna School ofFantastic Realism his early works were mainlyExpressionist-influenced images of suburbs, still-lifes and femalemodels, most of which he destroyed. In 1944 he married IreneSchmied. During the last days of the war he was assigned to an airdefense unit. After the war he returned to his bomb-damaged studioand resumed work as an artist. KURT REGSCHEK
1923 - 2005
Kurt Regschek was originally closely associated with the group in Vienna, but left in 1965 to pursue his own way, just before internationally important exhibitions of the other 5 members took place. Kurt Regschek could be considered the Sixth Member of the Group.
A very personable and humble man, while being interviewed for his biography, he said:
"I know, a biography must be - however I don't like it when artists make themselves the work of art".
